Women lack entrepreneurial opportunities

Half of women feel that a lack of funding is stopping them from running their own business, while over a third complain that they do not receive the same business opportunities as their male counterparts.

A study conducted by lifestyle website handbag.com claimed that women’s lack of access to startup capital is a significant reason why less than a third of small firms are female-owned, compared to two-fifths of American companies.

But an overwhelming 95 per cent of those questioned said that they have considered starting up their own business at some point.
